Vallenato is an indigenous musical genre of the Colombian Caribbean Coast with its epicenter in the former province of Padilla (current south of La Guajira, Cesar and north eastern Magdalena) and ancestral presence in the savanna region of the departments of Bolívar, Sucre, Córdoba. Its popularity has spread today to all regions of the country and neighboring countries like Panama, Venezuela, Ecuador and Mexico.
